2 The Design Files Open House

I get excited every time I come across an image of The Design Files Open House.  I'm not sure why I haven't dedicated a post to it yet.  Lucy is amazing and the house is completely inspirational. Basically Lucy and her team transformed a beautiful home in Windsor, Melbourne, to create a pop-up retail event. (Side note: why are pop-up shops so awesome?  Maybe the temporariness?). They carefully selected a group of awesome designers, artist and makers to fill this space.  The outcome was fantastic.

Please visit Lucy's Blog, The Design Files for many more images and source information for the furniture, art, and other great items.

5 The Sofa Search...Is OVER!!!

I did it! Last weekend I bought a sofa! Actually...Brit and I bought two!

I finally decided that Ikea's Karlstad in Sivik Dark Gray was the one.  After sitting on countless other sofas (including the long time front runner Room and Board Jasper) I decided that this one feels just as comfortable and looks almost as good as much more expensive sofas, at such a reasonable price.  They were delivered yesterday (although I haven't actually gotten to see them in our new apartment yet)...but I'm very excited!

3 The Rest Sofa

The Rest Sofa from Muuto.  I LOVE this sofa.  Those oversized arm should bother me, but instead I love them.  Anyone know anything about the price?

1 Further Proof

That my next apartment will need two sofas. I'm officially obsessed with this idea if you can't tell.

3 Rug Options from Anthropologie...

You know, the closer I get to moving out and really NEEDING to buy furniture, the more indecisive I get.  A rug is one thing. I need a couch.  Who wants to pick one for me?

1 Jarlath Mellett's Manhattan Loft

Jarlath Mellett's Manhattan loft...this time a little different pair, a sofa and a daybed.  Still love it.  And low  storage along the wall, with a focus point, this time a fire place. Are we seeing some patterns here?

2 Living Room Inspiration...

This is a great space.  The more I see two sofas across from each other in living rooms, the more I'm convinced that is exactly what I want. Of course, I can't even decide on (or afford) one that I really like much less two.  But perhaps one day.

I also love the idea of low storage along one wall.  Admittedly I would put a tv on it too, although I love the focus on that large piece of art...hmm.

2 Sarah Illenberger's Berlin Apartment

Sarah Illenberger's Berlin Apartment is filled with completely fantastic elements.  That couch is perfection. As are those geometric curtains.  And so is her fashion sense.

1 Another Fantastic Sofa Option: The Nook

I just noticed this sofa, The Nook, on The Design Files' Need/Want list.   I really like it, a lot.  The only problem is they don't seem to be available in the US. Which is bad, because I really want one.

3 Pal + Smith

Pal + Smith's porfolio is filled with lovely images {obviously I had a hard time narrowing them down}.  They also have a great collection of furnishings, that Madison sofa, featured in both of these spaces, is kinda amazing.

5 Suita

Ok, I realize that if you have read this blog for a while you have heard me repeatedly say that I have found the perfect sofa, and that I'm saving up to buy it during one of my many home cures.

But then I chicken out, or spend them money elsewhere, or decide maybe another one is better, or find out its not in stock, etc., etc..  You know how this goes.

Well this time I'm serious.  I freaking love this sofa line from Vitra, called Suita. Like LOVE.

It needs to be mine.

There are some changes brewing in my current living arrangements, that I can't share quite yet...but I really hope to incorporate one of these sofas into the plan.

Let's just pray it doesn't cost like $10,000...

Found thanks to See Saw Designs.
