0 John Cottrell

Artist John Cottrell creates very lovely work.  These are some of my favorites...

4 Shoes from J Crew

One of each please...

Lindy Leather Platform Peep Toes + Langford Wool High-Heel Oxfords from J Crew...

Apparently I'm obsessed with shoes these days.  Also, I need new clothes...or at least I need to get creative with what I have.  It might help if 80% of my clothes weren't in plastic bins in my storage room.  Maybe I should play along with the 30/30/30 game?

2 Black and White Dots

Black and White dot tray and woven bands.

Found thanks to Creature Comforts here and here.

4 Black and Brown Leather

My love of black paired with brown leather was question recently.  The combination is currently my most favorite thing to wear, and this beautiful post at Aubrey Road  proves that I am right.

Also I need those shoes.

And some perfect brown leather boots. stat. Does anyone have any brown leather flat boots with extended calf suggestions? I am finding it like impossible to find a pair that I really like...

Update: Check out these great boot suggestions from Sushee...Neither are quite what I had in mind, both they are both fantastic.  Might have to try these on...Thanks Sushee!

6 Whittled Whale

This great whale is from Ready for the House. And I love it.

I quote: "Weekend whittling, clear grain Douglas Fir."

Shall I add whittle a whale to my life to do list?  I don't know, I'm really phobic about cutting myself...hmmm.  Maybe I need a boyfriend who can whittle...I'll add that to my required boyfriend characteristics.

1 Roy Lichtenstein's Ball of Twine

Roy Lichtenstein was one of the first artists that I fell in love with.  I would say that my sense of style and color palette preference has evolved over time, so although I would have preferred a much brighter work of art when I was younger, Ball of Twine has become my favorite of the Lichtensteins.  I adore the simplicity and the line work.

Found again thanks to Even Cleveland.  Images from NY Times and Art Info (shown in Kaufmann House- what could be better than a great piece of art in a great house?)

8 Jess Likes Lists

I think it's time I shared this with you, a little side project I've been working on:
JESS LIKES LISTS.  It's not that far along, but maybe if I share it with you it will motivate me to work on it more.

So the thing is I like list...a lot.  I live to cross things off to do lists, which I make on a very regular basis.  I have been working on my Life List for a while, and again it needs work but it's a start!

Do you like lists too?

3 Bookshelves Behind Sofa

I love the way Loving. Living. Small placed her sofa in front of her bookcases, and hung art on the face of the bookcase. This is really a great way to layer and add depth to a room...

Found thanks to Apartment Diet.

3 More Great Striped Floors from Jim Lambie

I've mentioned my love of Jim Lambie's work before here, so I was excited to see Tim Nye's apartment in New York Magazine showing off more of his work.

For the record, I would make some changes to that room {like those blinds and the furniture arrangement}, but those floors, and a lot of the other elements {like the art and pendant lights} are fantastic.

Found thanks to Apartment Therapy.

PS!! Check out this interesting post on Jim Lambie's work and Jill Sanders from Agnes at Iiiinspired....
