2 Destination Boston {Day 1}

Ok, the reason you haven't seen any pics of Boston yet is because I was a little snap happy, so it has taken me a while to get them organized. I was there for 5 days, and I took 500 pics. So, I decided to post a day by day summary of what we did and saw...

For the record, I absolutely loved Boston...even more than I thought I would. The fact that it is compact and you can walk and/or take the T {which I'm completely obsessed with by the way} everywhere is phenomenal.

The beginning of it all...the main reason for going to Boston in the first place was for the AIA National Convention. Most of the Convention was held in the Boston Convention Center designed by Rafael Vinoly, which is pretty awesome in itself. We stayed right next door in the Westin, which was fantastic. Any architects out there who are thinking of going to the
Convention next year {in San Fransisco}, I would totally recommend it. It was extremely well organized...I was quite impressed.

One of our first stops was the Barking Crab {right on the water} for some delicious fish and chips...they were quite tasty and the atmosphere was perfect...

Various pics walking from the Barking Crab to the Children's Museum...

The Children's Museum looked like a lot of fun...we didn't actually make it inside, but I hear it is Boston's first green museum which is great. And there is this strange milk bottle shaped Au Bon Pain just outside...which was strange but in a good way...

More pics walking on our way to the South Station...My favorite is the yellow stairway plastered with pics, we think it was a travel agency, but I'm really not sure- it was awesome nonetheless...

Our next stop was to the Prudential Center to get tickets for the Duck Tour, once again I would totally recommend this tour. You ride in an amphibious vehicle and see quite a bit of the city from land and water...it was fun...

3 Presenting...my new Calendar!!

You may remember my great calendar search from the end of last year...well, I decided to wait until I got my new office to actually order one. So last week I decided that the Stendig was the greatest of all calendars, but unfortunately they are sold out everywhere....
So I decided to make one instead. I designed the numbers/days in word, printed them on business cards, and used homemade fabric covered thumbtacks to attach them to the cork. I really like that it is reusable and that I can tweak it each month. I already have a few changes in mind, but I think it is a great addition to the new office!!

3 The Little Things {Black + White + Yellow Edition}

Despite the prediction of rain all weekend, the weather is amazing here. {Perfect for everyone going to Jazz Fest...} I had a lovely breakfast on the balcony, overlooking the park. {Biscuits + Apricot Jam + Earl Gray + Grapefruit Juice} I love my new Zinnias from yesterday's Farmer's Market. {I've decided going to the market on Saturday mornings makes me VERY happy...}

A lovely little juicer set that stacks within itself...

Yellow Bamboo Bracelets + Black and White Earrings + Black and White Headband + Black and White Clutch {a gift from Dante} +Yellow Clutch with Black and White Lining {a gift from Mom and Lulu}

Martha Stewart Black Silhouette Frame {on clearance...I bought all of them....} + Cheap Colored Pencils {to add color to my desk at work...}

A Yellow Giant Vase from Pottery Barn {again on clearance} + Freshly Organized Fabric Stash {well part of it...I've realized I have a lot of fabric...}

2 A Peek @ My New Office

I've moved into my new larger office {although I preferred my little nook better honestly, but I'm trying to make it feel "right"} I do love my new little landing strip, the fact that I have guest chair, all the yellow, my flower and fern, and my new vintage gas station zero {it has a one on the other side}...

1 Friday Lunch with the Girls {Baru 2 Edition}

This weeks Friday lunch was just Dante and I...we went back to Baru, where we had a delicious lunch and planned our Boston Trip. {Yes, that is meat, and yes I ate some...It was delicious, but not as delicious as that desert- an orange partially scooped out and filled with passion fruit ice cream...I ate it all...}

By the way, this is Baru {not a pic I took} and this is the house across the street {I did take this one} that we thought had a very striking color palette...and a beautiful mini street garden...
