1 Last Weekend Recap

I have to sneak in last weekend/weeks recap before this one starts!  I've had annoying computer and internet issues this week that have slowed me down, but that's ok.  So some highlights from the past week:

1. The weather was weird the past week in LA, this thick fog rolled in and you couldn't see anything, and then it rained, but there were also periods of beautiful sunshine.  We liked that part.
2. Brit now has an awesome hanging herb garden on our patio, that we are really excited about. It required some interesting and awesome items...like a machete (not really, it's a folding hand saw, but that's what we are calling in) and neon zip ties.
3.  We also got more succulents and cacti (because we didn't have enough already) and did some planting.
4.  Including planting a new aloe vera in my newest  Perch! Campy Planter...I love them so much!
5.  I also got some new Russell and Hazel Binders (I'm obsessed with the yellow one) and a BKR water bottle.  I'm totally guilty of drinking smart water from plastic bottles, because I hadn't found a reusable bottle that I like.  But I think this one might be it.
6. I had brunch at the Jonathan Beach Club which was delicious and beautiful with great company.  Then I spent some time at my parent's house and got to hang out with my favorite doggie, Tilly. My dad started a vegetable garden while we were there, and my mom was cleaning the pool area.  One of my next tasks is going to be to design their pool/outdoor area, including landscaping and furniture.  The view is awesome, and I have a feeling we will be spending a lot of time there this summer.

0 Weekend Photos

We didn't leave the house much this weekend...which was kind of nice.  I'll have to share last weekend's jammed pack fun photos soon.

2 Po-Boy Festival

The Po-Boy Festival is this weekend. New Orleans has hundreds of festivals...so, I have no idea why I am telling you about this one in particular {other than that is where I will today} and I think it is funny when festivals are dedicated to particular food items.
Just kidding...I didn't make it. I bet it was fun though...

3 How I Spent My Weekend....

After raining here for what seems like months, the weather in New Orleans was so amazing this weekend. I am still trying to fight off this infection, so some serious relaxing was in order. I spent all weekend sitting on my balcony reading in the sunlight....it was fantastic.

1 Papering a Drawer

I am thinking about papering some drawers today...among many other apartment therapy items I need to do. But first, a trip to the farmers market for my first weekly flowers for my new home and schmancy lunch with the girls downtown...

5 Weekly Flowers and Some Good News...

I went to the Farmer's Market yesterday for two reasons. 1. For a banana popsicle {So delicious! and it was almost 80 degrees here yesterday- such crazy weather} 2. To see if my favorite flower lady was there. I hadn't spoken to her since my last post since I was out of town for so long. I was so happy to see she was there, with adorable petite bouquets. Although, the greenhouses did collapse and she lost many of her flowers, the beds on the edges were ok despite being exposed to the snow, rain, and freezing conditions. It was great to see her and her beautiful flowers. It was also great to see how optimistic she was despite this setback. Very inspiring...

1 Weekly Flowers...and sad news

Lovely weekly flowers from a few weeks ago.
On a sad note, when I went to the Farmer's Market this weekend, my favorite flower lady only had a very small selection. When I asked her how she was this week she said that the snow had crushed all of her green houses... Very sad. :(

1 Weekly Flowers

This week's flowers {from my favorite flower lady at the farmer's market of course} are just completely stunning. Although I tend to prefer arrangements made from a single type of flower, sometimes I just can't resist a colorful bouquet like this one. Also, the fun blue vase was a $3 find from last weekend!

4 Playroom Mini Cure / Weekly Flowers/ The LULU is HERE!

In preparation of my little sister arriving for a visit in NOLA. The playroom got a little mini cure that included:
-Hemming the curtains...finally!
-Organizing the craft supplies and my new goodie box from Decor8
-Cleaning off the desk
-Finally replacing the TV remote control that broke like two years ago
-New flowers from my favorite flower lady at the farmer's market
-Ribbon loops sewn on bath towels
-Lots of laundry
-A multi-day search for the perfect affordable summer weight blanket (which turned out to be a very light down alternate blanket in a Jonathan Adler duvet cover)
-New artwork on the art wall...much more vibrant now. Several of the items are from the Inspiration Box!
-A little gift of Burt's lip gloss and Lotion
And now I'm off to play....
