0 CANstruction 2008 {The Power of Ten}

Friday our firm participated in CANstruction again. The theme this year was The Power of Ten in honor of the event's 10 year anniversary. We did a ten step program to success and although it wasn't as amusing as last year's MexiCANtina, it really turned out quite well. Last night at the gala, we took home the award for Best Meal {for the second year in a row}. As always, it was a great event and a great cause.

1 Fall is here...at least for now {Gourds}

I think my body is having a hard time adjusting to the changing season. That said, I love this time of year. Whole Foods just got a huge shipment of pumpkins and gourds. I thought this vignette of green gourds was particularly beautiful with all the different textures...

Oh, and let's talk about the weather...awesome.

1 Etsy Fabric Order {Seam Sew Lovely}

I was pleasantly surprised to get my Etsy trade from Seam Sew Lovely yesterday. It was wrapped so beautifully, I just loved it. I'm always excited to find new black and white fabric. I think the little squiggles and flowers will make perfect buttons!

1 Yellow Gifts!

So my good friend and co-worker Kelli had this fantastic idea to give out flowers in recycled can vases Monday morning at work. It was such a pleasant surprise, and really made Monday a little easier to deal with...

I actually had a little thank you gift for her for letting me tag along with her family during the hurricane...I think the little guy on the front is uber cute!




Kelli is actually on roll on this whole inexpensive gifts with a big impact thing...This was the gift that she gave me last week for hosting our Project Runway viewing party. The cupcake is so adorable and I love the little vintage-esq yellow mini baking dishes. Thanks Kelli...

0 So this is totally random...

I know this is random. I was driving home from work one day this week, stopped at a red light where they are doing some construction, when I saw the above. And it made very happy. A yellow pennant banner with a random ball of pink yarn and the pink spray paint on the form work...It just struck me as so randomly pretty.

In retrospect, its probably not yarn, but construction twine that has been sorta spray painted pink.

I haven't slept much this week...
