2 The Design Files Open House

I get excited every time I come across an image of The Design Files Open House.  I'm not sure why I haven't dedicated a post to it yet.  Lucy is amazing and the house is completely inspirational. Basically Lucy and her team transformed a beautiful home in Windsor, Melbourne, to create a pop-up retail event. (Side note: why are pop-up shops so awesome?  Maybe the temporariness?). They carefully selected a group of awesome designers, artist and makers to fill this space.  The outcome was fantastic.

Another home that I could move right into.  Perfect balance of clean simplicity with warm comfort.  I'd also like to live in a loft, well period.  But especially with high wooden beam ceilings and windows like those.

NW 13th Avenue Loft from Jessica Helgerson Interior Design ....So many good things here. The living room and bathroom are absolute perfection, in my opinion.  The kitchen is great with the big wood table and oversized pendant light.  The graphic tapestry heaboard is well done, especially with the monochromativ bathroom.  I'd like to move in now.

5 More Living Room Inspiration

I seriously cannot stop thinking about that vintage stool....does anyone know anything about it?  I NEED it!

Also, we've been eyeing those shelves from Ikea that A Merry Mishap has in her living room.  I think we need them for our entry area.

9 Apartment Updates...

We did some major cleaning and organizing at the apartment this weekend.  Doesn't it feel so good to have a clean home?  I also made a few changes and hung some new art...I still need to find a few more great pieces.  Next week...chalkboard painting the dining room table!

So let's start off this new year with a great Los Angeles loft tour!  Bri Embry of Design Love Fest has a fantastic fun sense of style that is very apparent in the design of her loft.  I adore the sophisticated gold accents mixed with graphic stripes and fun bright sprinkles of color.  So fun!

0 Living Room Inspiration...

I would still like to work some leather into our new living room to balance the graphic prints and clean lines.  Also instead of hanging the picture wall in my normal manner of a random cluster of frames, we are seriously considering hanging large frames like the image above with prints inside...I'm kind of excited.

2 Living Room Inspiration...

This is a great space.  The more I see two sofas across from each other in living rooms, the more I'm convinced that is exactly what I want. Of course, I can't even decide on (or afford) one that I really like much less two.  But perhaps one day.

I also love the idea of low storage along one wall.  Admittedly I would put a tv on it too, although I love the focus on that large piece of art...hmm.

1 Inspiration Sunday...

Ok...so it's just  barely still Sunday, but I'm squeezing in some inspiration.

I have to say I had a great, busy weekend.  My mom and I got our hair and nails done yesterday.  Today I ran to Silverlake to visit Kelly Green, Reform School, and Mohawk General. {Some of my favorite stores!} And then, my mom and I went to the beach {yes, in January! I love this weather!} before having dinner for my dad's birthday...I hope you had a great weekend too.
