Another home that I could move right into.  Perfect balance of clean simplicity with warm comfort.  I'd also like to live in a loft, well period.  But especially with high wooden beam ceilings and windows like those.

3 We Moved!

We moved to our new beach house!!  I hate that things have been so slow around here, but the have been anything but in the real world.  We got all moved out of our old apartment, and are working on getting settled in our new one.  As you can see I've made some progress in my bedroom...We decided we couldn't live without our dark accent walls.  I honestly love the black wall(s) even better in this space, it made a huge difference in the way the room felt.  I also made one furniture purchase: an Alex from Ikea...which I have always wanted.

We are already enjoying our new neighborhoo, Redondo Beach (right near the Hermosa Beach line).  It kind of feels like Cali and NOLa had a baby. We can't wait to get out an explore some more.  While I work to get back to a routine, be sure to follow me on instagram to see what is going on... (My username is blackwhiteyello.)

0 Bedroom Inspiration

So, I think I may have hinted before that we were having some issues with our apartment.  Basically we have been having a pest control issue for months at this point.  Our little, um...friends, who we lovingly named Rat Ghost and Vern are quite persistent and smart (unlike the management of our complex).  After patiently, but frustratingly, dealing with this problem we have to move out.  So...we have been on a mad hunt to find a new apartment.  

Given this, you can probably understand why I needed some nice calming inspiration today...

1 A View from My Bedroom

I slept in this morning, which felt good, and have been hanging out in bed.  Things have been a little slow around here for a while partially because I have been sick for a while (more than two months- ridiculous I know).  After lots of doctors visits and many sluggish days I think I'm getting better. (Nothing serious by the way, we think, just bad allergies that tend to turn into sinus infections/bronchitis too often).  


So, I shot these images with my iphone yesterday and this morning (and posted on Instagram), and I've gotten a lot of questions about where things are from.  I thought I would do a quick credit round up of the things I can remember...

9 Apartment Updates...

We did some major cleaning and organizing at the apartment this weekend.  Doesn't it feel so good to have a clean home?  I also made a few changes and hung some new art...I still need to find a few more great pieces.  Next week...chalkboard painting the dining room table!

So let's start off this new year with a great Los Angeles loft tour!  Bri Embry of Design Love Fest has a fantastic fun sense of style that is very apparent in the design of her loft.  I adore the sophisticated gold accents mixed with graphic stripes and fun bright sprinkles of color.  So fun!

3 Dwell Studio Trellis

Thanks to becoming re-obsessed with Pinterest, and not sleeping, thus having hours to scour every inch of the site...I have realized why I can't commit to ordering Dwell Studio's Trellis in Dove grey:  Because I want it in black and white.


Dwell Studio: Have any thoughts of bringing this back in black and white? Or have any old stock hanging around that you might want to sell me?
Readers:  Anyone have a gently used duvet and/or pillowcases they want to sell to me? PLEASE!?

5 Dwell Studio Trellis

Dwell Studio has brought back their Trellis design...and I think I might get it.  I've been dreaming of the Draper Stripe for so long, but I think it's just really out of my price range. Maybe pairing the Trellis duvel with West Elm's Striped sheets instead.  Hmmm, can't quite decide...what do you think?
