Today is Awesome Print from The Small Object...and because today is awesome, because it is Friday.

0 The Indigo Bunting

I have been meaning to post about my love for all things that The Indigo Bunting creates for months.  I saw some of Erin's work around the blog world and always liked it.  But when I saw the Subway Poster that she illustrated for her nephew with all his favorite subway stops, I was totally hooked.
Check out her clever custom invitations, posters and design work at her blog and her flickr stream...

1 The Floating Bungalow from Bestor Architecture

The Floating Bungalow from Bestor Architecture...I like everything about this, including the firm.

The Floating Bungalow in Venice, CA, by Bestor Architecture demonstrates all the restraint, craftsmanship, and functionality of a Japanese house mixed with an unbridled So Cal creative vibe in the use of industrial materials and color throughout. Barbara Bestor says her mission was to "build a new house that is a modernist contemplation and reinterpretation of the working class bungalows that have long defined this area. The house seeks to appear dreamlike, as if a typical bungalow had been abstracted, dipped in white, and lifted in the air to allow a loftlike public floor to slip in below."

2 I Like to Draw. I am Awesome.

I Like to Draw. I am Awesome. Pencil and notepad from The Small Object...I so need this.
I like to draw. I am awesome. These two sentences are etched into the sides of two wonderful blue pencils that are included in this pencil pack along with one 50-page drawing pad. The notepad is handbound and features 50 different pages of ideas to draw at the top of each--from "Draw a picture of your meal and don't forget the crumbs" to "Draw a picture of a map of a place you would like to visit." Packaged in a glassine bag that has been embossed with the product information.
