wonder if i could felt a bunch of thrift store sweaters and cut one of them in a spiral strip to create the cord, and then cut the others into the pennants to sew on. It'd be a heck of a lot cheaper than buying yarn, and a lot simpler than having to knit these (all that stitch decreasing!). Now you've got me wondering...
