I cruised blogger for folks that are in the New Orleans area for suggestions for a great and reasonably priced authentic meal near the convention center.
Liz, I agree with Kelli, there are quite a few great places to eat near the convention center...Mulate's on Julia was always one of my favorite places to eat before I moved here. Emerils is not far if you want a little nicer meal. For cocktails and food, I second Lucy's Retired Surfer Bar on Tchoupitoulas and Girod or try the bar at Harrahs Hotel on Poydras for a more upscale evening- the mac n cheese is amazing...
