Liberty of London Target

Ok, I have to say I was a little bit disappointed in the Liberty of London items at Target. Some of the clothes and bedding were so cute, but the fabrics and cuts were so wrong. I think sometimes they underestimate Target shoppers, I would be willing to pay more for these items if they were made of nicer materials, and I'm guessing other people would too.

I did end up picking up some of the black, white, and yellow dishwear.  The nesting bowls are ceramic, but  I really wish they would stop doing the dinnerwear in melamine.

What did you think? Pick up anything good?

  1. i got some of the clothing -- a couple dresses and a top -- and i didn't find the fabric as horrifying as everyone else. though i keep reading how everyone else was so disappointed in fabric quality and i generally am really picky about quality, so i hope i'm not fooling myself and going to look much worse in my new items than i think :)

i also got a couple planters, one of the canisters, and one of the black and white plates like you have, but i got it to use as a little tray on my dresser. i also ordered a pair of the hot pink lamp shades but am not at all certain whether i'll keep them. what i really wanted and had been obsessed with ever since i first saw it was the bicycle, but once i saw the $120 shipping price (which is more than half the price of the bike) i got cold feet and sat on it, which i now regret since it's sold out.

anyway, i definitely got caught up in the frenzy, and i am really pleased with what i got, but like most things target, i wouldn't want my whole house or wardrobe made of the line.

  2. I totally agree! I was really hoping that all the dishes were going to be ceramic, I wanted new dishes. Instead we got new cereal/snack bowls for the girls, love the black and white with the yellow inside and the scalloped edges.
I have a friend who's going to take the little plate and the bigger plate, glue them together and make a clock out of it for her kitchen. Cute right? You don't always have to use dishes for eating.
but I agree, they underestimated out taste level as consumers. The only other thing I picked up was a little romper for my 3 year old, so cute.

  3. I'm so with you on the melamine thing. What's up with that? I got there way too late - there was hardly anything left. I got a candle, a frame and a bra (surprisingly decently made).

  4. some of the clothing looked cute but they were out of most of it at the store closest to me.

i 100% agree on the melamine. I'd be more apt to buy plates (glass, ceramic, etc) that would go with my every day china and could be used at dinner parties, etc.

  6. i bought some of the gardening gloves. and was real excited when I saw the gardening trowel set.... but upon close inspection saw how cheaply made they were that I put them back. It looked like they wrapped thin printed paper around the handles then mod podged them on. I'm not big on prints as far as clothing goes so I didn't go there. The canisters and bins were tempting but I was in the middle of paying for a wedding so I held myself back.....
